Description about Project/Department The Peregrino Field is a heavy oil field in the South and South West section of the Campos Basin, located approximately 85km off the coast of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The Peregrino Field is presently developed with two wellhead platforms (WHP-A and WHP-B) and a floating production, storage and offloading unit (FPSO). A system of pipelines, risers and cables connects the FPSO and wellhead platforms. The Peregrino Phase II Field Development will add a third wellhead platform WHP-C in approximately 120m water depth. The Jacket (by Heerema) is an 8-legged substructure foundation for a Topside design. Construction (by Kiewit) of the Topside Deck has started in Ingleside, Texas, USA and will be transported to Brazil for offshore Hook-up Q3 2019. The 120 bed Living Quarter (by Leirvik) is engineered and fabricated at Stord in Norway, and the Drilling Unit (by Cameron) are being prepared for commissioning activities in Ingleside, Texas.
Description about Task and Responsibilities We are looking for a SAS (Lead) Engineer for the Peregrino II project on the Topside construction site in Ingleside, Texas, USA. Depending on the candidate we will evaluate if the role will incorporate a lead function or not. The candidate will have the opportunity to get first-hand experience with project execution performed in the Gulf of Mexico according to Brazilian rules and regulations. The SAS (Lead) Engineer shall make sure that the engineering is done on the scope in accordance with the authority regulations, project specifications and standards, and according to budget and schedule. Specifically, The SAS (Lead) Engineer shall:

  • Follow-on engineering activities for the Topside Deck for the discipline in question
  • Some knowledge Field Instrument, Fiscal Metering, Telecommunication, and IT preferable.
  • Close collaboration and support to other site teams from Construction, Completion, and Operation is required.
  • Interface collaboration with other off-site teams are also required; for example, Corporate IT, Living Quarter, and Modification Group in Brazil within the area of responsibility.
Competence Requirements University/College degree in a relevant technical subject Relevant experience may compensate in part for formal qualifications. Minimum 7 years’ experience within oil & gas engineering Multi-discipline understanding Good knowledge of IEC rules and regulations pertaining to automation Good knowledge of ABB Process control systems and Electrical control system Good communication skills across disciplines Ability to work in a team. High ethical standard and adherence to the company’s ethical requirements Mobile for project assignment abroad. Ability to live by «I am safety» expectations
