We seek a Machine Design Engineer who is driven by the belief that technologic innovation can impact & transform the quality of life and enhance industrial working processes& businesses around the globe, you ensure the product development process of high performant ‘Mobile Utility Vehicle-built Installations’ on 2 levels:
– New product lines
– Updates of existing product lines

PRODUCT DESIGN

A) GENERAL
– Responsible for search/developing(engineering), as well as the leading the ‘Product Design Process’ for a superior Mobile Industrial Equipment project: truck mounted industrial utility installations (New Product & Updates).The main product lines are Super Suckers (High Performant Vacuum Trucks) composed with Pressure vessel(s), Vacuum Pumps, High Pressure-Pumps, process piping, brackets and a range of additional Fluid-Power features& electric control systems to suit adequately it’s specialized heavy duty field application.

B) PROCESS SPECIFIC
1) CONCEPTING PHASE:
– Responsible for performing concept validation research of the new products/updates by developing a Feasibility Study (technical, regulationary& economical) based on the input of a Product Marketing Plan (by Marketing dep.) & Customer’s Satisfaction Report (of Previous model)
– Responsible for developing a Product Planning (Roadmap/Action_Plan)for the product design project.
– Responsible for Conceptualising: make concept feature listings, organise brainstorm sessions with technical cross-functional team, generate basic sketches& concept definition report
– Responsible for Patent Researching &Application (if applicable)
2) ENGINEERING PHASE:
– Responsible for developingthe Industrial Design: – Refined Sketches in SOLIDWORKS
– Studies on Product Shape, Performance (Configuration & Sub-Equipments), Standards/ Normative Conformity review
– Develop Initial CAD Design in SOLIDWORKS
– Responsible for Mechanical Engineering: 3D-Modeling of parts& assemblies in Solidworks, ideal material selection,Finite Element Analysis (Simulation on parts, subassemblies & main-assembly). Items like: pressure vessel, brackets, piping, pumps, driveline…
– Responsible forBody-To-Truck Engineering: Developing Body-To-Truck Diagrams (Load / Dimensional / Turning / Driveline / Power Distribution)
– Responsible for Electric Engineering:Develop Electrical Diagram(basic)
– Responsible for Fluid/Pneumatic Power Engineering:Develop Hydraulic &Pneumaticdiagram
– Responsible for definition of Part description, Part selection all to be listed in the project B.O.M.& production Parts List.
– Responsible for developing Product Guiding Documents (Manuals, Training content, Maintenance content)
– Responsible for Prototyping: develop Test Samples, functionality Stress Test, Evaluation Report & Redesign
– Responsible to smooth handover from 3D conceptual phase (R&D-Department) towards 2D Production Engineering phase

Candidate Requirement
General : In depth knowledge& experience of Product Design & Machinery Design in all its constituent technical fields, while being project development driven and with a strong Solidworks 3D skillset on a designing level (Modelling&Simulation).
Education – Bachelor / master in Engineering (Machine Building and Maintenance Technology)
Experience – At least 5 years experience in a Product Design Engineering environment in machinery building or equivalent
– Experience of ‘Machine Design Engineering’ in following sub-fields:
– Mechanical
– Power transmission
– Hydraulics
– Electricals
– Truck knowledge

Technical
1)Strong knowledge of Solidworks on a designing level
– Modelling (sketching, features, weldment, sheet metal, components, configurations)
– Analysis: (Simulation & Motion study)
2) Knowledge of ‘Machine Design Engineering’ in following sub-fields:
– Mechanical
– Power transmission / Driveline
– Hydraulics / Pneumatics
– Electricals
– Body to Truck/Trailer-fitting (Automotive/Transport design)
3)Invention skills:
– Driven by the aim of catching the highest solution
– Out of the box Engineering
4)Strong technical Analytic ability to go in depth / in detail /in structure
5)Knowledge of structured design approach:
– FMEA:Failure Mode Effect Analysis
– VE:Value Engineering
– ECN:Engineering Change Notice
– PPAP:Parts Production Approval Procedures
6)Good general computer skills and working with spreadsheets
Language – Good knowledge of technical English (Speaking, Reading & Understanding).
